Executive leadership

The Executive leadership pilot is an initiative of the Public Sector Commission’s  Centre for Public Sector Excellence. The Commission will provide 25 scholarships to eligible applicants as a pilot  to identifying the skills and capability gaps of senior executives across the sector. Once identified these will be used to developed an Executive leadership program to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of executive leaders in WA public sector agencies.

Who should take part?

The pilot is open to tiers 2 and 3 officers only within the WA public sector. For example  Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Deputy Directors General, Managing Directors, Executive Directors, Directors and Assistant Directors.

Pilot overview

The pilot is a four stage process and will guide future intakes and other Commission initiatives. The pilot includes face-to-face workshops, self-reflection and on the job application of knowledge.  

Cost

The Commission will provide 25 scholarships for the pilot which covers:

  • the assessment diagnostic tool 
  • an individual debrief and up to five individual one hour coaching sessions
  • program materials and resources
  • administrative costs associated with the pilot.

Participants are responsible for the costs of travel, accommodation and associated expenses to attend all sessions.

How do I participate?

To apply applicants must:

  • complete a nomination form
  • attach a current resume to your nomination form (no more than five pages)
  • submit  a nomination form to veronique.renel@psc.wa.gov.au by TBA (late applications will not be accepted).

Nominees will be sent confirmation email that their nomination has been received.

Following the Commission’s selection process all nominees will be contacted via email regarding the outcome. Successful participants will be required to provide evidence of agency  approval to confirm their place in the pilot.
