The Integrity (Lobbyist) Bill 2011 was introduced into the Legislative Assembly on 9 November 2011 and the second reading resumed on 21 June 2012.
The purpose of the Bill is to promote and enhance public confidence in the transparency, integrity and honesty of dealings between lobbyists and government representatives.
The Public Sector Commissioner will be responsible for administering the Register of Lobbyists, which will ensure the independence of the lobbyist oversight process from executive government.
