Public Service Medal - Nominations for the Australia Day 2020 Honours List

26 June 2019

Nominations are now open for the Public Service Medal to be announced for the Australia Day 2020 honours list. Nominations close on 1 August 2019.

Up to six medals can be awarded each year for Western Australia. While nominations can be made by anyone, they must be endorsed by the nominee’s director general/chief executive officer acknowledging that the nominee exhibits outstanding service.

The Governor-General awards the medal twice a year – Australia Day and Queen’s Birthday – as part of the Australian system of honours and awards. This medal recognises the outstanding service of employees at local, state and federal levels of government. Recipients are entitled to use the letters ‘PSM’ after their names to show that their service has been recognised formally.

Full details of the Public Sector Medal and how to nominate are online.
