Public Service Medal - Nominations for the Australia Day 2021 Honours List

20 May 2020

Public Service Medal nominations are now open.

Nominations for the Australia Day 2021 honours list close on 3 August 2020.

The Governor-General awards the medal twice a year – Australia Day and Queen’s Birthday – as part of the Australian system of honours and awards. This medal recognises the outstanding service of employees from all levels of local, state and federal government including those at the grass roots. Recipients are entitled to use the letters ‘PSM’ after their names to show that their service has been recognised formally.

Up to six medals can be awarded each year for Western Australia. While nominations can be made by anyone, they must be endorsed by the nominee’s director general/chief executive officer acknowledging that the nominee exhibits outstanding service.

Full details of the Public Service Medal and how to nominate are online.
