Building young careers and setting up Western Australia for the future
Year 10 students across WA will soon be invited to register interest in a public sector school based traineeship.
Public Sector Commissioner Sharyn O'Neill said the traineeship provided a wide range of benefits for both trainees and public sector employers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to kick start their professional careers, and for public sector agencies to employ young people with innovative ideas, skills and knowledge, Ms O'Neill said.
School based trainees combine their studies with valuable paid work experience which counts towards their WA Certificate of Education. They also complete a nationally recognised qualification.
This initiative will assist agencies to develop a strong, diverse and capable workforce that is future fit for the people of Western Australia, said Ms O’Neill.
Agencies should consider raising a request now for 2020-2021 school based trainee.
Students can apply for this opportunity via JobsWA.
Further information for agencies and schools is on the Public Sector Commission website.
