DEOPE annual report
Section 144 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (EO Act), requires the Director of Equal Opportunity in Public Employment (DEOPE) to prepare and present to the Premier, as the Minister for Public Sector Management, an annual report on or before 30 September.
The DEOPE uses the EEO data collected from public sector authorities, (State Government agencies, local governments, public universities, government trading enterprises) and public sector entities, including the non-public sector authorities of Western Australia Police and electorate offices, to identify the key diversity issues across the sectors.
The report, which is tabled in the Parliament, combines statistics and public employment best practice examples to outline the progress, work and activities of the DEOPE and public authorities towards achieving equal employment opportunity.
