Workforce trends

As part of a good practice approach public authorities (State Government agencies, local governments, public universities and government trading enterprises) and public sector entities, including the non-public sector authorities of Western Australia Police and electorate offices, should have an understanding of the composition of their workforce.

The Public Sector Commission and the Director of Equal Opportunity in Public Employment (DEOPE) collect workforce demographic data from public authorities each year. 

When reported by the Commission and the DEOPE this data provides public authorities and the government of the day with a broad picture of the workforce which, in turn, helps them to plan for future workforce and diversity policy requirements and decision making processes.
