Equal employment opportunity (EEO) surveys
What is EEO survey data collection?
The Public Sector Commission collects workforce demographic data from local governments, public universities and government trading enterprises annually through an EEO survey and reports this data publicly through the Director of Equal Opportunity in Public Employment’s (DEOPE) annual report to the Parliament.
Who provides this data?
Section 146 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 requires public authorities to report workforce data to the DEOPE.
Local governments, public universities and government trading enterprises meet this requirement by reporting workforce demographic data through an annual EEO survey.
Why is it collected?
Information reported by public authorities and entities assists the DEOPE to monitor diversity in public employment and feeds into the Public Sector Commissioners and the DEOPE’s reports to the Parliament.
