Implementing the policy capability framework

The Commission will continue to work with policy practitioners and human resources practitioners to develop guides, tools and learning development programs aligned to capabilities, to help agencies and individuals use the framework and build workforce capability.

These resources will assist in designing jobs, discussing performance and identifying learning and development opportunities. They will also help workforce and succession planning.

Capability Assessment and Development Templates

A series of assessment tools complementing this publication have been designed to help policy practitioners and managers identify and assess policy capability for current or future roles, and to plan for development needs.

Tools for managers

Managers can use the assessment tools to conduct performance discussions with their employees, identify capability development needs and agree on learning and development plans.

Tools for employees

By using the tools for self-assessment, individuals may plan their next career move.
